The candidate will work in a hybrid-remote capacity but must live within commutable distance to the office in Northampton, MA. There will be regular in-office work, plus in-person meetings throughout the region.
Responsibilities include:
Support project managers in all aspects of real estate development: project concept and feasibility; relationship management; deal structure and financing; and project oversight and reporting

- Participate in the identification of potential project sites and properties; assist in the presentation of opportunities to the Development team and in establishing project goals through designing, developing, monitoring, and evaluating the structure
- Liaison between Project Managers and local/state agencies, private parties, nonprofits, and other parties to carry out development projects; assist in the expansion of existing levels of funding with current or new resources
- Aid in budget planning and contract negotiations; coordinate permitting, zoning, and environmental review for project; organize, track, and report on the stages of funding commitments (seed money, interim financing, permanent financing, equity investments, public/private subsidies)
- Attend legal contract reviews and help coordinate closings
- Assist in the oversight of project construction, including contract compliance and reporting, tracking/reporting billable hours, inter-departmental communications, and collaborating with Property Managers for efficient and timely lease-ups
Administration and Other
- Input data into project management systems; generate reports for communication to internal and external audiences
- Manage the administration of various documents including statistical reports, Requests for Proposal (RFP), and contracts
- Conduct robust community demographic, market, real estate, social service, and legislative research and analysis
- Draft, prepare, and/or edit policies; maintain all operation procedures and other key documents
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with staff (including across departments), community groups, funding sources, constituents, and stakeholders
- Lead or manage ad hoc projects as assigned
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; commensurate experience may be a substitute for a degree
- Five years’ experience in related role
- Creative problem-solving skills, including critical decision-making and the ability to manage complex tasks with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel), database reporting, and comfort learning new technologies
- Excellent communication skills with strict attention-to-detail; meeting facilitation and small group public speaking skills
- Strong organizational skills with a track record of meeting short- and long-term responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven organization
- Excellent research skills and analytical thinking, with confidence to apply research results to fact patterns to propose conclusions or solutions
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; reliable vehicle
