What are the responsibilities and job description for the Linen Worker position at Wayne HealthCare?
Description: Receives clean linen from contract laundry and inspects, fold, sorts and distributes to various nursing stations and departments throughout the hospital.
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Physical demands require medium to heavy lifting. Bending, lifting and standing is involved.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to operate sewing machine for mending and making requested items.
- Receives linen Monday through Friday from laundry service.
- Examines linen for damage such as rips, tears, and holes and heavy stains.
- Folds, sorts, and stocks linen shelves.
- Replenishes individual unit linen carts with daily supply of fresh linens storage areas in each unit.
- Cleans linen storage rooms, work areas and folding/sorting tables daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
