The Department Director of Financial Mobility Services at Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency is responsible for the overall management and administrative direction of financial coaching, counseling, workshops, income tax preparation, and property tax assistance programs. This role involves research, evaluation, coordination, and implementation of programs, as well as direct personnel supervision.
Essential Functions
Plan, organize, and direct the operations and programs of the Financial Mobility Services Department.
Develop and implement inventory and cost accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
Oversee and report on the organization's results for the board of directors.
Prepare accurate and timely analyses of fundraising results, variances, and performance trends.
Provide leadership and manage the efforts of site staff to support all departments effectively.
Supervise the development of operations-based financial modeling.
Lead annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates with operational and senior management for all locations.
Approve major systems implementations related to cost and inventory control.
Retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing career coaching, growth, and personal development.
Ensure that services and funding relationships meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.

This job operates in a professional office environment with a usually quiet noise level. This is largely a sedentary role and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, frequently use hands and to talk or hear.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Public Administration, Social Work, or Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five years of experience.
Ability to collect and evaluate data regarding service needs, present services, and service gaps, and develop means to address those gaps.
Ability to provide effective supervision for assigned staff and coordinate program activities occurring at various sites.
Ability to design and implement new activities, including program design, staffing patterns, and program operation.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to empathize and communicate with individuals facing economic, social, health, age, and educational barriers.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Exceptional interpersonal and professional skills, including professional appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability.
Minimum Competencies:
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Working knowledge of basic internet applications and programs, including Google technology.
Ability to evaluate programs and processes and propose strategic efficiencies.
Exceptional interpersonal and professional skills, including professional appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability.
Ability to provide services for individuals facing economic, social, health, age, and educational barriers with compassion, empathy, and respect.
Ability to resolve customer complaints with compassion, empathy, respect, and clarity.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Perform work in a manner that upholds Wayne Metro policies and procedures.
Licensing and Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Travel Requirements:
Ability to travel to various sites.
Work Hours:
Work to be scheduled Monday through Friday with specific hours to be determined by program needs.
