Scope:
Responsible for the implementation and execution of housing and homeless related services through Coordinated Entry activities specific to domestic violence support. Responsible for serving as the liaison between Wayne Metro and community stakeholders to ensure greater coordination of efforts in serving homeless and near homeless members of the community.
Essential Functions

This job operates in a professional office environment with a usually quiet noise level. This is largely a sedentary role and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, frequently use hands to finger, handle, and to talk or hear.

Essential Functions
- Work closely with partnering agencies toward the goal of securing safe, affordable and sanitary housing for families experiencing homelessness due to fleeing domestic violence, including dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
- Proficiently complete Coordinated Entry eligibility paperwork related to the provision of housing and homeless services as required by Wayne Metro and program funders.
- Prepare and maintain client files as required by Wayne Metro and applicable funding sources. Remain abreast of changing guidelines in determining eligibility and record keeping.
- Provide direct service to clients including but not limited to: accompanying clients to scheduled appointments, other specific client-centered tasks as assigned, entering data into agency data bases and assisting clients with applications/surveys (paper and electronic).
- Assist households in obtaining vital documents required to obtain permanent housing (i.e. State ID, birth certificates, social security cards, etc.).
- Implement working knowledge of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Dynamics, Safety Planning, and Problem Solving/Crisis Intervention while serving households experiencing homelessness due to fleeing domestic violence, including dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking; including those in emergency shelter.
- Remain abreast of programmatic and funding opportunities in the area of housing services to aid homeless and near homeless persons. Work with agency development staff to identify opportunities that are appropriate for the agency to pursue in the interest of achieving the agency mission with respect to services for this population.
- Provide staff support to the Out-Wayne County Continuum of Care through coordination of efforts including but not limited to Homelessness Awareness Week activities, common service procedures and tools, annual educational retreats, and Continuum of Care development.
- Maintain accurate records which are compatible with those maintained by Wayne Metro for the purpose of deriving statistics, meeting legal requirements for program and client records, and compiling program reports as may be requested by program management.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others.
- Perform work in a professional manner that upholds Wayne Metro's policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a related field.
- Experience in housing/homeless service programs or a combination of education and experience which is similarly appropriate.
- Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, safety planning, and trauma informed services or ability to learn through focused training opportunities.
- Knowledge of Wayne County demographics, the needs of homeless and near homeless persons in Wayne County, and services available to meet those needs.
- Experience using Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic internet applications and programs including Google technology and Microsoft Office Word and Excel. The ability to learn and utilize the necessary programs for this position.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
- Good interpersonal and professional skills including but not limited to professional appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability.
- Ability to provide services for those persons facing economic, social, health, age, and educational barriers.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment (as deemed necessary).
- Perform work in a manner that upholds Wayne Metro policies and procedures.
- Ability to travel to various sites.
- Valid identification license and reliable transportation.
