Nature of Work
Provides executive, administrative and analytical support to the Dean in a wide variety of areas such as: budgets, communications, personnel, research and office management. Coordinate activities on the Dean’s behalf and act as liaison to senior management across campus.
Examples of Work Performed
Manages special programs and projects, including advising and program coordination of Community of Learning and para-to-teach programs.
Provides oversight and support to graduate programs including the admissions management platform.
Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and others regarding program policies, procedures, and requirements.
Coordinates and oversees the development and implementation of an educator preparation program quality assurance system for accreditation purposes.
Collects and analyzes data internally and with external stakeholder groups for program effectiveness, and state and national levels of accreditation.
Provides curriculum and professional development support for instructors in the dual-credit education pathway program.
Manages the assessment platform, including training and the development, collection, and reporting of student outcome data.
Assists the dean in coordinating professional development workshops.
Coordinates marketing for academic programs with College Relations, including but not limited to the website, publications, and printed materials.
Organizes socials and recognition events.
Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree in education or a related field
Higher education experience (teaching, scholarship, service) and familiarity with teacher education, schools and schooling, and related fields
Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to manage complex projects
Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of assessment software and online data management systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary Information
Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive fringe benefit package. Annual salary range is $49,937-$62,421.

Wayne State College is seeking an Assistant to the Dean position within the School of Education & Behavioral Sciences.
This position plays a pivotal role in the efficient functioning of academic operations and program management within the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences. The responsibilities will encompass a diverse array of tasks aimed at supporting the Dean and contributing to the overall success of our academic programs including special programs and projects management, graduate program oversight, program quality assurance, and data collection and analysis.
