Shifts: 8am-5pm
Days: Monday thru Friday
Weekends: Only if needed for activity/holiday
Location: 104 J V Mangubat, Waynesboro, TN 38485
Compensation: $33,000-$38,000
Purpose: Plan, organize, and direct Activity Department operations in line with regulations, policies, and comprehensive assessments to meet residents' well-being.
Delegation of Authority: As Activity Director, possess administrative authority and accountability to execute assigned duties.
Job Functions: Identify and implement essential functions, including program development, policy coordination, and community planning.
Administrative Functions:
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate activity programs.
- Keep abreast of regulations, recommend policy changes, and assist in policy development.
- Participate in community planning and discharge planning.
- Conduct private resident/family interviews.
- Assist with transportation arrangements and referrals.
- Involve residents and families in activity program planning.
- Maintain a working relationship with the medical profession.
- Review workforce, coordinate with other departments, and implement changes.
- Participate in facility surveys and address deficiencies.
- Assist in infection control and quality assurance programs.
- Maintain a reference library for compliance.
Committee Functions:
- Serve on committees, providing reports and evaluating recommendations.
- Attend department meetings and assist in recruitment and staffing decisions.
Staff Development:
- Plan and conduct in-service training classes and orientation programs.
- Encourage leadership training and attendance at outside programs.
- Ensure staff participation in mandatory training.
Safety and Sanitation:
- Assist in developing safety standards and monitor adherence.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and infection control procedures.
- Develop and maintain programs for disease monitoring.
Equipment and Supply Functions:
- Recommend equipment and supply needs.
- Ensure equipment is functional and supplies are on hand.
- Develop efficient procedures for supply usage.
Assessment and Care Plan Functions:
- Develop assessments and care plans for residents.
- Encourage resident/family involvement in care plans.
- Review and revise care plans regularly.
Resident Rights:
- Maintain confidentiality and respect resident rights.
- Participate in resident/group council meetings and address grievances.
Miscellaneous:
- Conduct weekly inspections, handle emergencies, and ensure proper protective measures.
- Work with consultants and assist in making resident appointments.
- Coordinate activities, supervise, and develop activity schedules.
- Encourage resident engagement in hobbies, crafts, and educational activities.
Requirements:
- Must lift 25 pounds, push, pull, and move items a minimum of 50 feet.
- Must either possess the Activity Director Certification or have 2 years of experience in Activities in a skilled nursing facility and be willing to take the test to be certified.
