We are seeking a secondary art instructor to teach at a therapeutic boarding school with young men between the ages of 13-18 who deal with anxiety and depression. Faculty members teach students at various skill levels, and collaborate with other subject teachers in integrating curriculum and motivating each student to succeed. The successful candidate will be a teacher who can instruct in multiple artistic disciplines.
The following attributes and responsibilities are desired:
* Ability to maintain academic rigor within a supportive learning environment
* Differentiate instruction to best meet the needs of all students in each class
* Create an honors track curriculum for art
* Help connect students interested in art with the larger art community (e.g. participate in art shows and exhibiting their work).
* Be an academic adviser to a group of students to support their success and skill development
* Teach art elective courses during summer term
* Assist service learning coordinator with service projects (along with rest of the academic team)
* Collaborate with academic faculty, clinical team and milieu staff
Must have a UT secondary educator license (or be able to obtain one) with an endorsement in visual arts.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
