Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, terminate, orient, train, support and evaluate Recovery Advocates and with emphasis on coaching and developing staff. Provide direct supervision for recovery advocates
  • Facilitate problem solving with RA staff. Act as liaison to counseling, program, and administrative staff, and troubleshoot issues that arise with clients
  • Plan and facilitate monthly shift meetings. Assist RSM in developing and facilitating quarterly RA meetings
  • Assist in program planning, implementation, and evaluation with the clinical team. Actively seek client feedback when implementing procedures/policies
  • Assist RSM, Clinical Manager and Clinical Team with RIPLE training, schedules, CHIP shop and related RIPLE client activities
  • Ensure 24-hour coverage is provided in RA Department. Assign workloads, tasks, and transportation scheduling
  • Ensuring DHS compliance requiring that a RA staff person, trained in CPR, be present and available 24 hours per day. Informing Recovery Advocates that when there is only one RA staff person is present, the staff person may not leave the building
  • Oversee organization of resource materials and policies in RA department
  • Design procedures, forms, office systems, office set-up to meet the needs of RA Department, ensuring Rule 31 compliance
  • Work collaboratively with clinical staff to provide high quality client care
  • Role model behavior, which is consistent with and supportive to people in recovery from chemical dependency. Such behavior will include upholding ethical standards of the program, reliable attendance, and commitment to the mission of empowering women. Additional Duties:
  • Participate in monthly Supervisor meetings and other meetings as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • RA Supervisor must be free from problematic substance use for at least two years immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of substance use disorders and mental health. Two years’ experience in Substance Use Disorder Treatment or Mental Health Treatment preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in a Recovery Advocate, CD or MH Technician preferred
  • Leadership abilities and exemplary communication skills required
  • Experience supervising a team preferred
  • Organizational and clerical skills/aptitudes preferred
  • Strong attention to detail; thinking capabilities and humor are welcome
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to be responsive in an effective manner, while maintaining a warm and supportive atmosphere
  • Must value diversity and can relate well and enjoy working with women of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
  • Microsoft Outlook/Office experience required. CPR Level A certification required
  • High School Diploma required; some college preferred
  • Flexible schedule
  • Must be able to pass DHS background study and be free of communicable disease
  • Good driving record and current MN driver’s license required
  • No DWIs in last three years; No more than three moving violations/accidents in past three years
  • Must be 18 years or older

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs

Compensation:

$20-$22/hour

Hours:

Shift: 12pm-8pm open to being flexible
