The Community Ed Specialist assists the OST Youth Coordinator in the development and implementation of youth programs and the facilities rental program in collaboration with Facilities Manager and Youth Specialist.
This position is a year round, forty hour per week position. Benefits include health and dental insurance, flexible hours, and a hybrid work environment. This position will include some evenings and weekends.
Yearly salary starts at $63,800.
Youth Classes, Camps and Clubs:
A. Working in collaboration with the supervisor, develops and conducts surveys, assessments, registration data, and evaluations of current and potential program offerings. Analyzes data obtained to make program improvements accordingly. Analyzes registration data, course evaluation
B. Plans and implements a broad range of youth classes, camps and club learning opportunities.
C. Recruits instructors for youth education classes under the supervision of the OST Youth Coordinator.
D. Schedules and supervises activities.
E. Collaborates with school/district personnel, community organizations, and other youth education entities.
F. Evaluates the effectiveness of current programs, modifies current programs, and develops new programs as deemed appropriate by the OST Youth Coordinator.
Facilities:
A. Assist user groups in scheduling school and community activities.
B.Assist the Facilities Manager in developing and implementing procedures that ensure safe accommodations for community and school groups.
C. Provide on-call support on evenings and weekends.
D. Provide training and work direction to Building Supervisors in setting up buildings for programs and rentals.
E. In the absence of the Facilities Manager, provide support to OST Youth Coordinator and custodians.
Communications and Marketing:
A. Works in collaboration with the Communications Department staff to market programs and grow participation.
B. Develops content for marketing materials. Monitors the development and maintenance of Community Ed webpages.
Other:
A. Works with supervisor in collaboration with Facilities Manager and Youth Specialist to establish short and long-term goals for programs.
B. Promotes and implements quality customer service in conjunction with program staff.
