The Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) is seeking an Information Technology Manager II — Business Solutions (IT Manager) to oversee this newly created management position overseeing the Business Solutions section within the IT Systems Division. This capable and hands-on business systems technical expert reports to the Chief, Information Technology (CIT) and will oversee a staff of 28, an approximate budget of $3 million, and three major systems, as well as work on a variety of engaging projects. This manager will be well-versed in a wide range of technologies and systems, using their vast knowledge to mitigate challenging problems and perform disaster recovery. They will champion change management while being an excellent project manager, seeing projects through from start to finish. THE JOB
The Information Technology Manager II — Business Solutions (IT Manager) will oversee the Business Solutions section of the Systems Division, including 28 staff, an approximate budget of $3 million and various projects and systems while reporting to the Chief, Information Technology (CIT). They will evaluate current systems, looking to optimize existing hardware and software and leverage new systems to improve IT services. This position is responsible for three major systems: a pension administration system (WorkSpace); an enterprise content management system (IBM P8); and a legacy system that runs on a mainframe (IRIS). This is an exciting opportunity to lead and see through several new projects, from the initial planning process through final implementation of all IT business solutions. Along with using their technical expertise in their daily work, the IT Manager will also exercise their personnel management to develop, mentor, evaluate, and supervise staff. They will also regularly interact with other divisions, and outside resources/vendors.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
- Option A:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field; AND
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible, full-time, paid experience in a centralized Information Technology organization, performing information systems analysis and design, application development, network administration or operating systems analysis; of which two (2) years must be in a management capacity; OR
- Option B:
- Three (3) years of experience at the level of Information Technology Manager I, LACERA, or Information Technology Specialist I, LACERA; OR
- Option C:
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible, full-time, paid experience in managing the design, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of a large complex information systems program in a large, multi-service public or private sector organization; AND
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
