Objective:
- This position is to aid in improving the quality of patient care, promote respect and dignity, and to ensure satisfaction for all patients at Desert Winds Recovery. The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting the Providers with the duties related to the care of patients.
Essential Functions:
- Assisting the Providers with medical care to patients seen in the Clinic.
- Administering immunizations and medications under the Providers' orders.
- Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered
- Documentation preparation, charting and assessment of patient care needs in collaboration with the Providers.
- Act as an advocate and point of contact for clients treated at the clinic.
- Ensure all documentation including lab results, imaging or other vital information is available for the Providers.
- Adhere to the professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules and regulations while operating within the Scope of Practice.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven working experience in a Behavioral Healthcare and/ or Primary Care environment
- Knowledge of the principles of substance abuse and recovery, and crisis stabilization for those with mental health issues
- Previous experience with the adult behavioral health and homeless populations is not required, but preferred
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Compassionate with teamwork skills
- Ability to empathize with the population
- Leadership skills
- Proficient with SQ/IM injections
- Excellent clinical decision-making skills
