PR Account Executive, Microsoft Comms Team

What We Need

We are seeking an Account Executive who will support and execute AI storytelling campaigns for Microsoft. This position is a key role on the agency’s dynamic Microsoft AI team, working to help educate customers about this transformative technology as well as the company’s ambitious vision and initiatives related to it.

This position offers opportunities to build experience in proactive and reactive media relations, news announcements, industry events, social media, and more. To be successful in this role, an Account Executive should be collaborative, organized, and have a base level of technical understanding when it comes to AI tools.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning new things and staying updated on the latest trends and developments in AI as well as the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities that naturally come with a rapidly shifting tech landscape and fast-moving news cycles. What you'll be doing

• Contributing to the development and implementation of integrated communications plans (including strategic approach, traditional/nontraditional media engagements, social amplification, message creation, etc.)
• Identifying, creating, and growing relationships with target media/influencers to appropriately engage, pitch, and build news stories
• Managing reactive requests from media
• Supporting media management processes such as media lists and coverage monitoring/analysis
• Monitoring, reporting, and providing insight on industry, cultural and competitor news and trends
• Identifying and staying up to date on global trends in the AI space to inform client strategies
• Serving as counsel to clients and agency stakeholders, executing high-profile campaigns across diverse teams, providing tactical recommendations and anticipating needs
• Contribute to brainstorming aimed at changing perceptions and achieving specific goals

What you've been able to accomplish

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field is preferred, or the equivalent knowledge
• 2 years of experience in communications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Familiarity working with AI tools and solutions (i.e. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
• Strong analytical writing skills
• Experience with written and developed materials, including integrated communication plans, press releases, pitches, and social media content is highly desirable

• Comfortable with integrated communication principles
• Understand the role of the media
• Interest in developing integrated communications skills incorporating digital and social media
• High level of initiative
• Desire to be an engaged, accessible member of a dynamic office and broader global agency community
• Client and business environment:  Customer service orientation is a must.  Job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks.
• Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations
• Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.)
• Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English
• May need to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion

Your Salary: 

The target range of base salary in all locations within the United States for this role is $56,000 - $61,000 per year. Actual salary is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to business needs, level of responsibility, skill set, level of experience, and geographical location.
