A reputable distribution company in Bayonne, NJ is looking for an accountant for immediate hire, The ideal candidate will be involved with day-to-day operations A/P, A/R and general ledger, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen, this is a full-time onsite position, local candidates only must be able to commute daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger activities.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform cyclical audits to maintain financial integrity.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Generate month-end closing reports and financial statements.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports to support business decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience with A/R and/or A/P processes.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and AP accounts.
  • Knowledge of journal entry posting and month-end closing procedures.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 (Depending on Experience)
