Description

System Specialist

An employee in the System Specialist position performs tasks involving system operations.  This includes servicing landfill gas flares, pumps, and controls, performing inspections, troubleshooting, taking readings, monitoring compliance points, writing daily reports, and various other duties as assigned.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Understands pump controls and piping configurations
  • Troubleshoots faults
  • Understands how SCADA systems operate
  • Monitors tanks and wells
  • Writes daily reports
  • Enters data into client network systems
  • Performs various inspections
  • Performs various maintenance tasks
  • Understands basic electrical safety requirements
  • Understands landfill drawings and layouts
  • Provides training and guidance to other employees as necessary
  • Welds HDPE pipe and fittings
  • Extrusion welds HDPE liner materials
  • Understands and uses testing, calibration, and monitoring equipment
  • Understands how to use other equipment used on site
  • Understands and implements lock-out / tag-out procedures
  • Travel extensively on a weekly basis throughout North America. Some weekend travel required.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ GED required
  • Associates Degree Preferred
  • Allen Bradley PLCs MicroLogix, CompactLogix) or Automation Direct PLCs (DL, Productivity Troubleshooting) required
  • Sound technical writing skills for work report submissions.
  • Prior hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and schematics reading experience.
  • Landfill Experience is preferred
  • A valid driver’s license which passes our MVR policy requirements
