What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, International Tax position at Web.Com?

The Director, International Tax is responsible for managing all non-US income tax accounting, compliance, planning, and reporting functions for the Company, which includes significant operations in Canada, Australia, Singapore, India, Brazil, United Kingdom, Philippines, Ukraine, Netherlands and New Zealand.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the US international tax and foreign tax aspects of ASC 740 reporting, including quarterly and annual income tax provision and disclosures, return-to-provision calculations, reconciliation of tax accounts, uncertain tax positions and valuation allowance requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate US international tax and foreign tax filings prepared by external service providers, including providing support for computational aspects (e.g., GILTI, FDII, subpart F, Section 956, etc.), Section 338(g) elections, E&P computations, and US international tax forms (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8992, CbCR, etc.).
  • Monitor and maintain the Company’s global transfer pricing policies and computations, including working with external service providers in implementing and reviewing transfer pricing studies and intercompany agreements.
  • Assist in M&A activity, including tax due diligence, structuring, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Assist in improving the global corporate organizational structure and implementation of restructurings or transactions in furtherance of business model transitions and the Company’s global tax and cash management strategies.
  • Prepare foreign cash tax forecasts for the VP of Tax, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis and other Senior Management.
  • Assist local accounting teams and external service providers with managing and responding to foreign tax audits.
  • Monitor tax legislative updates on a worldwide basis and evaluate impact to the Company, including effect on the Company’s current and deferred tax position.
  • Research various international tax matters and assist in providing documentation in support of the Company’s tax planning initiatives and tax positions.
  • Liaise with the Company’s external service providers as necessary on various direct compliance and consulting matters related to the foreign operations.
  • Assist in staff development and training.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and either CPA, MST or JD.
  • Minimum of 8 years of international corporate tax consulting and compliance experience in international public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred), major law firm and/or tax department of large multinational corporation.
  • Extensive knowledge of US international and foreign corporate tax technical issues.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740, transfer pricing, foreign direct tax matters, and international transactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to operate in a detail oriented and “hands-on” environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong work ethic and high level of accountability.
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision preferred, but not necessary.
