Assessor Programmer Analyst

Description

This position manages the department’s IT software and hardware systems to ensure the accurate and timely production of required reports.

Examples of Duties

• Monitors department IT operations to ensure proper and efficient operation; troubleshoots problems and resolves issues.
• Develops and upgrades computer programs.
• Installs computer hardware and software.
• Maintains working relationships with hardware and software vendors, county IT professionals, and title companies.
• Inputs and accounts for figures in computer files for all taxing jurisdictions.
• Ensures the integrity and accuracy of tax statements; queries data and runs report to validate data; prepares data files for updates.
• Ensures the daily system back-up of property tax, liquor, VIT, occupational tax, and archiving system data.
• Queries property tax data and other applications for various uses.
• Queries data on property tax to produce customized delinquent tax rolls for delinquent attorneys.
• Runs delinquent tax rolls for tax companies.
• Runs Web County Appraisal District supplements, adjustments, queries and corrective tax statements.
• Queries property tax data and runs application tax reports.
• Downloads motor vehicle dealer data and creates customized spreadsheets.
• Creates user IDs, passers and profiles.
• Updates tax server and archiving document server.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field.
• Must have at least one (1) year of related experience.

• Knowledge of computer hardware and software installation, maintenance and repair principles.
• Knowledge of computer database security principles.
• Skill in the analysis and reporting of data.
• Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
• Skill in the preparation of clear and precise reports.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
