Notes to Applicant
If you are passionate about what you could offer and accomplish here at WSU, we would love to hear from you. The annual salary for this 11 month position starts at $30,175 and may go up from there depending on candidate qualifications. The position comes with a generous benefits package.

To apply, please complete the online application and attach a cover letter, current resume, and the names and contact information for three professional references.

In addition to the above documents, please attach a letter (other document 1) following the instructions provided below.

As the administrative specialist, you will be writing letters to potential students who are admitted or denied to the bachelor’s program. In these letters you not only congratulate them if they are accepted, but you also provide details as to next steps, contingencies to their acceptance, provide an advisor, and give them information on registration as needed. If denied, you may provide information as to what they may need to do to reapply, e.g., needing 60-63 credit hours, a minimum 2.5 gpa, registering for the 6 required prerequisite courses, etc. You may also provide them with contact information of the Chair or a potential advisor with whom to meet to discuss their progress.

Please write and send us a sample letter addressed to one of the following students:

Jeremy Little, who has been accepted into the program, but has a contingency in his acceptance. Contingency: he will need to complete his last required prerequisite courses (Zool 1020 and Anth 1000), one of which he is currently completing, with a C grade or higher. If he receives a C-, he will need to retake the class(es) to improve his grades. His assigned advisor: Dr. Kristina Moleni, with whom he may wish to meet on a regular basis to establish a graduation plan as well as remain on top of the plan or make changes as needed. Add anything else you think might be helpful to Jeremy as a new bachelor of social work student.

Jessica Staley, who has been denied due to the following: only has 52 credit hours, her gpa is a 2.2, and she has a C- grade in two of the required prerequisite courses, SW 1010 and Psyc 1010. She also needs to register for the remaining 4 prerequisite courses: SW 2100, Soc 1010, Anth 1000, and Zool 1020 and pass them with a C grade or higher. You can provide her with contact information of a potential advisor and/or the dept. chair for further assistance. Add anything else you think may be a help to her as she works to fulfill the requirements to reapply to the program.

For qualification determination, your application and/or resume must address the required and preferred qualifications and must contain average number of hours worked per week and the dates of employment (i.e., month/year to month/year or month/year to present). If your resume does not contain this information, your application may be considered incomplete.

Screening of applications will begin April 21, 2024. Position will remain open until filled.

Criminal background check required as a condition of employment.
