Job Summary/Basic Function
The purpose of this job is to hire individuals that will perform the Early
Childhood Environment Rating Scale observations using the (ECERS 3) and (ITERS 3) observations.
They will be responsible for writing reports on the observation and
providing child care centers with written recommendations. The child
care centers will then be able to use the results and recommendations
of these observations to work on improvements. They will have requested the observation in order to receive a certified rating from the Office of Child Care. Applicants will be required to be available to conduct an average of at least three observations in child care programs per
month using the ECERS-3 and/or ITERS-3.
The will be required to compile written reports to be shared with CAC
Weber, OCC, and child care program.
**This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Child Development, or Early Childhood Education or closely related field. If degree is closely related, transcripts should include 12 Semester or 15 Quarter hours of Early Childhood classes. Two years paid professional experience working directly with children in a child care center, Head Start program, or a district Pre-K program.
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience of direct responsibility
for professional development of adults (i.e. adult learning and training.)
If degree does not meet the minimum requirements, must demonstrate reliability of use of the Environment Rating Scales through training within the State of Utah or other states using the scales.
