Who We Are Looking For

As a Product, QA Lead, you will contribute to WebPT’s goals, driving a quality first mindset throughout the Development organization. As a champion of Quality, you will collaborate with the product development teams and other departments to drive alignment on quality driven efforts. This position is responsible for leading your team to deliver timely, high-quality software within defined schedules. You will be a leader and change agent within the Engineering Department and demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement.

You will be hands-on, experienced software testing, drives QA COE initiatives, understands all parts of the software deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations. You will work closely with engineering leadership, Developmental teams, and cross-functional teams to capture and maintain requirements that exercise software features across integrated products and release life cycles. Then, within the team and department, will learn and/or contribute to automation and manual solutions.

The ideal candidate for this role has not only background but a customer-focused mindset, maintains detailed standards in a high-demanding environment, and is proactive to ensure we are meeting expectations to deliver high-quality products, but also with a technical mindset to meet these needs.

 

What You’ll Be Doing As A Part of Our Team

  • Provide Project and technical leadership to a geographically distributed QA team.
  • Drive QA COE roadmap, recommend and implement modern QA strategies.
  • Own quality and promote the QA standards and practices
  • Collaborate with Product management and other departments to analyze business requirements, prioritize and plan product releases.
  • Provide technical direction to testing team members to adhere to quality and On-time delivery standards.
  • Lead, mentor and motivate team members to maximize their potential, foster innovation, boost productivity and to deliver high quality software.
  • Assist with measuring software quality and be able to present tradeoffs and provide risk assessment to all stakeholders.
  • Create testing LOE, highlight issues in a timely manner, risks, and assumptions.
  • Lead Weekly Defect triage meetings and provide defect and release test status and summary reports to the project team.
  • Attend PI planning and represent the needs of the overall QA team in management review and throughout.
  • Coordinate with QA team to plan test strategies, oversee execution and completion of testing activities during Test Cycle.
  • Lead and mentor Product QA.
  • Provide oversight and be responsible for ensuring that defined QA COE standards are followed by all members of the team.
  • Establish team metrics for quality and operational excellence measurement to enable continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Support to analyze and prioritize defects that escaped into production, determine root cause, and implement tactical and strategic changes to fix long term.
  • Adhere and lead the department in Quality Assurance, Software Development, and Release Management Best Practices.
  • Help estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.

 

What You Should Have to Qualify

  • Deep understanding of how to apply quality principles including built in quality, allocation of efforts to maximize ROI, and building a quality first culture.
  • Communicate clearly to leadership and articulate and defend your opinions.
  • Strong understanding of servant leadership, situational awareness, and conflict resolution.
  • Effectively lead organizational change/process improvements from problem identification and design to implementation.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environments.
  • Understanding of quality metrics and KPIs including defect density, defect prioritization, escape rate, test case coverage, etc.
  • Mentor and inspire others to raise the bar for everyone around you.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of lead/manager experience.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Kanban development environments.
  • Experience testing Applications and different types of testing approaches.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
