Who We Are Looking For
As a WebPT Sr. Manager of Software Design/UX, you bridge the gap between our product portfolio and our users’ experience, being a fierce advocate for our users. You have a practiced eye for effective design and are committed to creating elegantly simple user experiences from otherwise complex workflows.
You are responsible for attracting, retaining, and developing top talent focused on designing intuitive, quality products through collaboration with end users and modern software development teams. You will work closely with the design team and other leaders, to define our design strategy, engagement model, and design platform, employing various design and feedback techniques involving stakeholders, mitigating bias, to create solutions and experiences that users want to readily adopt.
What You’ll Be Doing As A Part of Our Team
- Owns the holistic design process, design system and language utilized across all teams and products, influencing stakeholders across organizations to gain support for design strategies. Establishes processes that support product excellence while moving and shipping fast
- Leads the development of innovative design solutions and the analysis of user experience data to solve user, product, and business problems as well as solution adoption.
- Through research, keeps the voice of the customer at the forefront with a regular cadence of qualitative studies. Utilizes quantitative and qualitative methods to uncover user patterns, behaviors and insights and translate these findings into recommendations for improving the user experience, collaborating closely with product leadership team members to help inform future roadmaps and turn vision into reality
- Owns improvements in design based on UX testing and stakeholder input and provide guidance and expertise to effectively engage stakeholders on product design to achieve product goals.
- Owns project priorities, including finding and aligning resources effectively to support the design project work.
- Presents complex design concepts, user needs, and design rationale to multidisciplinary teams, leadership, and key stakeholders.
- Provides guidance on design of products while keeping in mind dependencies and integration with other products across the enterprise
- Attracts, retains, and develops top talent. Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to User Experience and Design professionals, providing appropriate guidance and feedback as the team creates and validates solutions to real customer problems
- Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice)
- Be responsible and maintain a positive team spirit and culture, mentoring and inspiring designers to create world-class hiring experiences for the markets WebPT serves. Keep a pulse on the culture of product design amongst designers (and design partners) to ensure designers can do their best work.
- Throw business casual to the wind. We want casual casual. Rock flip flops and jeans. We don’t care as long as you do good work and enjoy yourself.
- Be ready to fly by the seat of your pants. This role is ever evolving, just like WebPT. So, while you don’t need to be Cirque du Soleil flexible, we may occasionally ask you to do a few cartwheels, or at least try some things outside of your wheelhouse.
What You Should Have to Qualify

- Attention to detail and prioritization capabilities
- 5 years’ experience as a Software Product Designer in a senior/lead role, with at least 2 years leading product designers and related initiatives with an accompanying portfolio
- Experience leading design/initiative from strategy through delivery and enablement and adoption with deep knowledge of the complete design process from brainstorming to end-product
- Experience with design thinking frameworks as well as both generative and evaluative UX research
- 2 years experience managing and growing team members in a professional setting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction design, Graphic Design, Human Factors, OR equivalent 5 years experience.
- Proficiency in guiding team members through User Experience fundamentals in a professional setting
- Mastery in translating user needs into visual assets and guiding others to do so
- Mastery in one or more of the following disciplines is essential with accompanying examples and/or portfolio: user research, interaction design, information architecture, visual design
Ideally, You Would Also Have These
- Experience with cloud-based solutions (SaaS)
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Background and/or understanding of the physical therapy industry
