Tool and Die Maker
Job Summary
The Tool and Die Maker should ideally hold a State Approved Journeyman’s card, and have verifiable experience with a range of normal machine tools. These would include: Knee and bed milling machines, engine lathe, surface and OD grinders, drill grinder, and also MIG and TIG welding.
The candidate would also have knowledge on the use of typical precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, height and bore gauges.
Candidates should also be highly proficient in reading engineered tooling and part drawings, and also have a working knowledge of Inventor.
Candidates should have good communication skills, as they would be dealing with a wide variety of people, including hourly and salary associates, as well as some interaction with Executive Management.
The candidate should have some basic computer knowledge, and also be able to understand digital timekeeping for payroll and job record keeping.
They should understand industrial safety requirements, and also have skills in 5S, troubleshooting, and independent thinking and problem solving. They should also be self-motivated.
The candidate would also participate in Department/Shift/Team meetings.
