Auto Damage Appraiser

Duties:

· Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical or interior damage

· Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item

· Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman

· Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident

· Determines salvage value on total vehicle loss

· Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations

· Write estimates for our walk-in customers and deal directly with customer through the entire process

· Go over repairs with technicians

· Prepare supplements in a timely manner complying with all state regulations

· Using multiple software systems and claims best practices, you will prepare itemized appraisals indicating costs of parts, materials, and labor necessary to restore damaged vehicles to their pre-damage condition

· You will resolve disagreements and negotiate with Insurance Companies, Independent Adjusters, claimants, and policyholders

Requirements

· M-F hours are negotiable

· Must have valid driver’s license

· Multitask

· Must be familiar with CCC estimating system

· Must have a current Mass Appraisers license

· Knowledge and application of fundamental claims practices and procedures

· Requires strong negotiation, analytical, decision-making, organizational and computer skills, as well as the ability to work with multi-faceted systems

• Auto estimating: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
• Auto Damage Appraisers license (Preferred)
