RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs the management of mortgage loan production and assures that policies and procedures are implemented and maintained to optimize the potential for the achievement of goals and objectives in volume, revenues, loan quality, efficiency, and charge-offs.
- Responsible for the member experience within the origination, processing, and underwriting areas of the department.
- Develops and implements strategies and tactics to attain mortgage loan growth and profitability goals that will enhance and complement the goals and objectives of the overall organizational strategy. Works with the marketing department in developing strategies and campaigns for the various mortgage loan products and services.
- Responsible for the hiring, training, coaching and development of a high-performing leadership team.
- Recommends department goals, personnel performance expectations and appropriate staffing levels while creating a culture of success within the department.
- Reviews, monitors and reports on loan production, efficiency, and member experience expectations.
- Provides ongoing reporting on competitor activities and the real estate market.
- Ensures that all mortgage loans are underwritten to FNMA guidelines and portfolio lending standards.
- Makes recommendations regarding loan policy and underwriting guidelines.
- Accountable for ensuring the quality control and audit standards for the Real Estate Lending department are fully met.
- Participate in and recommend vendor relationships related to production.
- Ensures training materials and manuals are kept up to date by supervisory staff.
- Participates in the annual budget and strategic planning process, prepares reports as directed by management.
- Performs all responsibilities in accordance with WECU service standards, information security, compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Follows WECU’s policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned and may also assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Job requires a four-year college level of language, math, and reasoning skills.
- Three years or more of real estate lending experience.
- Maintains Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) Mortgage Loan Originator designation.
- Ability to write and establish organization’s policies and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of collection law and procedures.
- Must be able to read and interpret financial reports received from various sources.
- Working knowledge of organization, policies and procedures, and credit union’s service philosophy.
- Working knowledge of management techniques to enhance subordinate productivity and to maintain positive staff morale.
- Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and tact in dealing with membership, management, and staff.
- Ability to perform detailed analytical work and make independent decisions.
- Proficiency in written and oral communication skills. Has the ability to represent the Credit Union in a positive professional manner.
- Flexibility and capacity to manage many responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment.

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is from $138,799. to $166,559. annually.
