About the role:
The Helpdesk Technician is responsible for the daily operations of the technology department. You will provide fast and useful technical assistance and escalation on computer systems while focusing on customer relations. Some responsibilities include organizing, modifying, installing and supporting our computer systems.
What you'll do:- Provide helpdesk support for internal and remote users
- Responsible for installation and upgrades of hardware and software
- Responsible for basic account management and installation of new software
- Assist with network changes and upgrades
- Maintain, repair, or schedule service for laptops, PC, and printers
- Assist newly hired employees with logging in and obtaining appropriate IT devices needed to perform their job function
- Maintain an inventory of PCs
- Update documentation to record new equipment installed, new sites, and changes to computer configurations
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Evaluate resolutions for ways to prevent future problems
- Place follow-up calls to users about ongoing issues
- Install and maintain security systems on equipment
- Troubleshoot users' issues as they arise
- Learn new hardware and software to be supported
- Care for all computer-related equipment, including workstations and printers
- Report to work place during regularly scheduled work hours as assigned by the director of information technology
- Perform other operations related duties as assigned by the director of information technology
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in IT related field preferred
- 2 or more years of coordinating experience
- 1 or more years of experience supporting domain level, enterprise services (for example, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, email services, and web services)
- 1 or more years of experience supporting Windows 2012 infrastructures
- Good understanding of hybrid Exchange environment, on prem account creation and migration
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting, setting up computers and associated peripherals
- Experience troubleshooting non-routine problems associated with computers and peripherals
