The role of the (insert role name):
As a Software Engineer, you'll have a direct impact on improving the user experience, making it seamless and effortless for parents to find the perfect care for their little ones. Collaborate closely with our product and engineering team to fulfill WeeCare's mission of making childcare accessible and affordable.
In this role, you will (job role and responsibilities):
- Frontend Web Development: You will be responsible for writing code in web languages, including HTML5, CSS3, and JS. Bonus if you are familiar with or have the willingness to learn PHP.
- Product: Engineering frequently cross-collaborates with our product team to build new features, enhance existing features and tech upgrades, and collaborate with designers to create a user-friendly WeeCare experience for our customers.
- Problem Solver: Sometimes, you might run into a blocker, but you will have the ability to think outside of the box to tackle the problem.
- Customer-Centric: This role plays a critical role as it will focus on the WeeCare website. You understand the impact your work has on the end-user experience and always strive for a high-performance, usable, and accessible experience.
- Future-Forward: We love seeing our employees being able to anticipate what is to come in the future, and in this role, you are going to be proactive in providing feedback and suggestions to help improve and optimize our website.

You'll excel at this role if you:
- Have 5 years of experience architecting leading-edge web applications
- A deep understanding of JavaScript, including standard ES5 , native DOM APIs, and ideally at least one modern front-end framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc)
- Have expertise building traditional SEO friendly websites
- Have expertise working with RESTful APIs & JSON
- Experience working with design to build custom pages and components, with a focus on page speed performance, and writing custom CSS to create pages that are responsive across a variety of screen sizes
- Enjoy knowledge sharing with team members, and experience writing detailed and well structured documentation
- Enjoy working within a data-driven team
- Provide technical specifications and feedback to product managers and designers
- Have experience working with CI/CD pipelines and testing (e.g. Jenkins/Selenium)
- Experience with application monitoring services: Sentry, Splunk, Datadog, New Relic, etc
- Are detail-oriented and rarely have things slip through the cracks
- Can propose architectural designs to the rest of the team
- Experience with test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated testing
- Willing to dig into any part of code across different product lines
