Fleet & Operations Manager
 
Weihe Construction is looking for a well-rounded professional with experience managing people and running a shop.  The Fleet and Operations Manager will provide ongoing support to the Logistics, Parts and Maintenance departments and be the leading point of contact in the shop.  This position will have 5 direct-report employees who will regularly rely on the expertise and knowledge of the Fleet & Operations Manager. 
 
Responsibilities of the Fleet & Operations Manager include, but may not be limited to:
  1. Overseeing all repairs to the company fleet from start to finish.
  2. Creating the working schedules for all shop mechanics and welders on a daily basis.
  3. Leading daily morning huddles with direct reports to discuss goals, challenges, and safety topics.
  4. Submitting weekly timecards for all direct reports.
  5. Analyzing machine repair priority.
  6. Physically engaging in repairs while providing hands-on expertise.
  7. Performing “Cost Savings Analysis” prior to every part order – discerning between lead time, price & quality.
  8. Overseeing the SOS and preventative maintenance program.
  9. Helping manage field parts and core returns.
  10. Evaluating the quality of shop repairs and follow-up with field staff as needed.
  11. Assisting the shop foreman with machine check-ins and work-order forms.
  12. Developing and maintaining vendor relationships.
 
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 7 years of management experience in a shop setting.
  2. Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment and passenger truck repair.
    1. Electrical, hydraulics, teardowns, transmissions, turbos, tracks, breaks, wheels, final drives, etc.
  3. Strong leadership and communication skills.
  4. Effective time management.
  5. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Google products.
