JOB TITLE: Facilities and Maintenance Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Maintenance Manager will lead all aspects of multiple plant maintenance departments. The maintenance manager will help aid and improve the operational performance of the plant through evaluation and improvement of current preventative and predictive maintenance programs; development of maintenance and production team members; and working with others to make continuous improvement throughout the plant.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the development and execution of a long-term strategic plan for the maintenance department to enhance operational efficiency, reduce system downtimes, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Team Management and Development: Lead and empower maintenance supervisors across all sites, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork. Encourage knowledge sharing and professional growth to build a robust talent pipeline for maintenance leadership roles.
  • Program Development: Design, implement, and oversee robust Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance programs for all new and existing equipment. Ensure these programs align with the company’s strategic goals and continuously refine them based on performance data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the continuous improvement manager and the operations manager to integrate maintenance strategies with broader operational excellence initiatives. Contribute to the development and refinement of the CAPA process and RCA methodologies.
  • Performance Optimization: Utilize KPIs to measure and enhance the maintenance department's performance continually. Analyze trends to preempt potential issues and formulate proactive strategies for equipment reliability.
  • Safety and Compliance Leadership: Champion a zero-incident safety culture. Lead strategic initiatives to exceed compliance standards and integrate safety into every facet of maintenance operations.
  • Inventory and Cost Management: Direct strategic inventory management practices to ensure the availability of critical spares while optimizing stock levels to reduce carrying costs.
  • Vendor and Contractor Strategic Relations: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality services and materials procurement, driving value and innovation in facilities management.
  • Budgetary Strategy: Contribute to the formulation of the maintenance budget with a strategic approach to cost management, delivering on efficiency and cost-saving targets.
  • Facilities Excellence: Oversee a strategic facilities management program ensuring all building systems and infrastructures are maintained to the highest standards, anticipating future site requirements and technological advancements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience in developing and executing strategic maintenance plans and a track record of improving departmental performance.
  • Expertise in leading TPM initiatives and leveraging maintenance best practices to drive operational excellence.
  • Proficient in advanced equipment troubleshooting and analytical techniques, with a strong emphasis on predictive analytics and condition monitoring.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams across multiple sites.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with the aptitude to convey complex maintenance strategies in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Proficiency in using advanced CMMS, maintenance management software, Limble preferred, to streamline maintenance operations and enhance decision-making through data analytics.
  • Accreditation in Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving methodologies, paired with practical experience in their application.
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial plant maintenance programs
  • Strong equipment troubleshooting skills
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills
  • People leadership and good written and oral skills
  • Experience leading TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is a plus
  • Trained in Root Cause Analysis is a plus


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (or other technical discipline), required


EXPERIENCE
:

  • Minimum 5 years in facilities and industrial maintenance management experience, required
  • 8 years of manufacturing experience


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
:

  • Extended periods of standing.
  • Frequently moves items weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Climbs stairs multiple times per day.
