POSITION: High School Design, Multimedia and Visual Arts Teacher (CTE)
SALARY RANGE: Licensed Staff Salary Schedule plus School District Comprehensive Benefits Package. We accept up to thirty years of experience. Salary Range of $40,000 - $84,525 (or current salary schedule) depending on experience and education, also may qualify for up to 5 additional steps on the current salary schedule. Also there is additional opportunities for tuition reimbursement

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expose students to a variety of programs and occupations in the arts, audio/video and communications pathways. Understanding of the knowledge, skills and educational requirements for career opportunities within this pathway.
- Background in the visual communication portion of all media businesses, including media, graphic design and illustration jobs.
- Ability to use digital photography for image editing and drawing programs.
- Understanding of student development of a high quality portfolio
- Use of large format printing projects
- Interest in forming community partnerships to expand the program and give students work-based learning experiences
- Supervision and implementation of a CTSO aligned with the CTE program
- Vision to establish a business model for the program and bring in outside projects to give students work-based learning experience.
- Cross-curricular projects within the CTE pathways and across the school/district
- Engaging projects that relate to students
- Ability to differentiate to a wide variety of skill levels within a classroom
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
- Minimum B. A. in Art Education or CTE Visual and Design Arts Endorsement
- Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish and English preferred, but not required.
- Hold or be able to obtain a Colorado Teachers' License endorsed in Visual Arts from Colorado Department of Education.
- Foundations of Design, Multimedia Arts, and Digital Communications
- Graphic Design and Illustration I and II
- Experience with work based learning for design and multimedia art
- Demonstrated knowledge of Colorado standards and assessments and the ability to facilitate data driven instruction and the standards based classroom.
- Prefer background and experience in secondary art education.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure student academic success.
- Prefer strong background and successful experience in art education and integration of art and other academics.
- Computer and Technology skills preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
- Coaching available.
