What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Weldall Manufacturing?

Buyer's Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Including the following, however, additional duties may apply as required)
- Review MRP signals and procure goods and services accordingly.
- Process requisitions and purchase MRO supplies, tooling, and sub-contract work accordingly.
- Align supplier and vendor due dates with production schedule and ERP system.
- Source potential suppliers and vendors.
- Issue RFQs for large projects, MRO, and daily material spot buys.
- Select and negotiate agreements for various commodities and sub-contract work.
- Reconcile / approve invoices of received goods and sub-contract services for payment.
- Develop and maintain appropriate relationships between supplier, purchasing and manufacturing to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Advise management of market conditions and supplier activities that could affect delivery, quality & cost.
- Expedite orders when required.
- Resolve supplier quality concerns and claims.
- Develop metrics to measure progress against company goals and service deliverables.
- Continuous improvement, best practice and cost saves projects.
- Participate in purchasing related internal meetings, including making presentations to senior management.
- Work with inventory control team and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Key member in bi-annual inventory counts team.

- PC skills Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business or Supply Chain combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment with firsthand knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials and consumable tooling.
