Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled Powder Mixing Operators and Mill Operators to join our team. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery to ensure efficient wire production processes. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development.
Shift:
2nd Shift: 2:45 pm - 1:15 am Monday - Thursday with voluntary overtime opportunity.
Please note: Training will occur on 1st shift for approximately three (3) months before transitioning to 2nd shift!
Duties:
Powder:
- Completing quality control tests, including welding and surface grinding samples, then running lab tests (spectrometer and hardness tester)
- Operating powder mixer, to blend metallic powders for cored welding wire.
- Calculating and recording mix parameters
- Operating a forklift
- Shipping and receiving duties
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Train, work, and operate other pieces of equipment around the plant as required
Mills:
- Operate machines making cored welding wire
- Complete set-up and operation of machines. This includes tool changes, machine adjustments, quality checks, minor machine repairs, etc.
- Calculating and recording set-up parameters on wire mill
- Measuring with O.D. Micrometers (Metric & Standard)
- Performing preventative maintenance on mill
- Operating overhead crane
- Work and operate other pieces of equipment around the plant as required
Experience & Skills - Required
- Comfortable in a production/manufacturing environment
- Experience with running and set-up of high volume production machines
- Electric forklift experience
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong basic math skills
- Tech savvy / computer skills
- Very mechanically inclined
- Physical fitness due to extreme active nature of responsibilities
- Ability to excel in a workplace with few employees
- Reliable, self-motivated, and hard working
- Willing to learn
- Good communication and ability to work well with others
- Detail oriented
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience & Skills - Desired, but not required
- Welding Experience
- CNC Lathe experience
- Industrial electronics experience
- Maintenance experience
