Position Summary: The peer advocate will provide supportive services to clients in ARS clinics
Essential Accountabilities:
- Develop recovery plans;
- Raise awareness of existing social and other support services;
- Model healthy coping skills;
- Provide peer support and advocacy after periods of hospitalization and incarceration;
- Accompanying clients to court appearances and other appointments as needed;
- Link clients to formal recovery supports;
- Coordinate services with other clinical team members;
- Participate in regulatory and agency trainings as needed;
- Complete timely documentation in electronic health record;
- Attend supervision as scheduled;
- Maintain CFR and HIPPA rules on confidentiality;
- Work with participants to identify strengths;
- Must be able to communicate information verbally and in writing for the purposes of giving instructions, providing feedback and adjusting work practices;
- Represent agency and clinical services at inter-agency meetings and conferences;
- This does not exclude the assignment or performance of other duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- OASAS approved certification CRPA or CPRA- P
- NYS driver’s license
