Position Summary: The peer advocate will provide supportive services to clients in ARS clinics
Essential Accountabilities:
Develop recovery plans;
Raise awareness of existing social and other support services;
Model healthy coping skills;
Provide peer support and advocacy after periods of hospitalization and incarceration;
Accompanying clients to court appearances and other appointments as needed;
Link clients to formal recovery supports;
Coordinate services with other clinical team members;
Participate in regulatory and agency trainings as needed;
Complete timely documentation in electronic health record;
Attend supervision as scheduled;
Maintain CFR and HIPPA rules on confidentiality;
Work with participants to identify strengths;
Must be able to communicate information verbally and in writing for the purposes of giving instructions, providing feedback and adjusting work practices;
Represent agency and clinical services at inter-agency meetings and conferences;
This does not exclude the assignment or performance of other duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
OASAS approved certification CRPA or CPRA- P
NYS driver’s license
