Rough Cleaner

Vision-sight, reading, writing, hand-eye coordination, dexterity, some math aptitude, can not be color-blind, depth perception, peripheral vision and speaking English. Be physically capable of doing repetitive heavy lifting, carrying and moving. Have basic knowledge of or be able to use bandsaws, Skill saws and DeWalt saws.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Remove gating and risers from the castings using band saws, skill saws and reciprocating saws
• Using the DeWalt saw for making diagonal cuts to remove material.
• Remove as much excess material as possible without incurring damage to the casting
• Be responsible for the cleaning of the equipment
• Must wear Personal Protective equipment at all times
• Must be able to follow work instructions issued by Quality/Engineering
• Remove excess metal from sand castings for all aluminum and magnesium castings using router equipment
• Sets up and controls operation of CNC cutters and hand routers for the process of manufacturing castings in order to remove gating and riser material not removed by the saw room
• Performs set-up and operation of hand router that CNC cannot do by using withness lines and other visual cue’s to in order to remove all excess material
• Uses CNC machine and hand routers

Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalency
EXPERIENCE: On the job

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lift up to 50 lbs. at waist level and up to 50 lbs. at shoulder level on a frequent basis when moving products

• Push or pull with up to 80 lbs. of force on an occasional basis when moving products
• Generate up to 80 lbs. of grip strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
• Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
• Display average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks
• Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products
• Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products
• Reach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling products
• Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shift
• Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day

Location Description: WDC Acquistions LLCs' 285,000 square foot facility is nestled in the rolling hills of southwest Iowa. The Creston plant is equipped for complete casting manufacturing and processing. For example, all heat treatment, layout, metallurgical and non-destructive testing are performed in-house. Over 20 different aluminum and magnesium alloys are routinely cast.WDC helped pioneer the development of specialty magnesium alloys such as corrosion resistant AZ9lE and heat resistant WE43A and is currently the largest producer of these alloys in the world.
