POSITION TITLE: Clinical Lead (Adult Outpatient Services)
PROGRAM: Wellmore, Inc. (Adult Outpatient)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinical Lead is responsible for direct services with adult and adolescent clientele including but not limited to evaluation/assessment; outreach; case and care management; individual, group and family therapies; crisis intervention; record keeping; collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services (including consultation and/or community); and program management/supervision. Clinical Lead assists in the supervision, development and implementation of assigned programs, services and staff.
SUPERVISION: Supervised by: Director of Adult Outpatient
Supervises: Master level Clinicians and/or Interns as designated by supervisor.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide comprehensive evaluations, treatment plans and treatment of adolescent and adult clients and their families. This includes evaluation/assessment; group, individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, treatment and discharge planning.
- To implement treatment plans that may include psychotherapy and clinically required support services including but not limited to advocacy and linkage to other needed services.
- Assist the Adult Outpatient Manager in triage of new referrals, provide client orientation/screening and to assign cases based on clinical needs and staff expertise and crisis management with new or established clients and their families.
- Maintain a level of productivity as determined by the Director and or Vice President of Adult Services.
- Work with the Director to provide consistent clinical leadership to the clinical and administrative team.
- To supervise assigned clinical staff and/or interns including clinical supervision, ensuring documentation expectations are met, completing performance evaluations and addressing any disciplinary concerns.
- To assist in second signing and reviewing documentation for Senior Clinicians, Clinicians and Interns.
- Maintain confidential and/or any other required program documents.
- To assist the Adult Outpatient Manager, Director and/or Vice President of Adult Services in the day to day clinical and administrative oversight of assigned programs.
- Assist with record reviews, clinical observation, training and in ensuring the program is providing high quality and accessible care.
- To assist in program development, marketing and community outreach.
- To work collaboratively as a member of a team with other professionals and concerned parties involved in cases.
- To supervise drug screens as needed.
- Facilitate team meeting, group supervision and/or Medical Rounds.
- To serve on agency and/or community committees.
- May be assigned on call responsibilities as determined by the Director and/or Vice President of Adult Services.
- Actively participate in supervision and report directly to the Director.
- Other such duties as assigned by the Director and/or Vice President of Adult Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of both agency and client matters. Must understand and be able to display the clinical knowledge and expertise necessary to perform crisis intervention. Must be able to display knowledge and expertise in clinical theory and practice as it relates to the populations served by Wellmore, Inc. Must be capable of working as a part of a team and be able to effectively communicate with both families and professionals (in writing and verbally). Must have experience in group therapy and with working with the adult population. Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) may be required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A master’s degree in social work or marriage and family therapy preferred along with a Connecticut State license from the Department of Public Health. A Connecticut license as a Professional Counselor with a minimum of two year experience will be considered. Two years post graduate clinical experience working with adults is required, four years experience is preferred. Experience providing clinical supervision and the necessary credentialing from NASW or a similar credentialing body which approves supervisors or supervisors in training, status etc. may be required. Experience in working in a behavioral health setting is also preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
Valid driver’s license with good driving record. CPR and first-aid.
CONTINUED COMPETENCY:
Must maintain a satisfactory performance evaluation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clear, accurate and logical routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
