How you make a difference
The Paramedic is a vital member of the healthcare team responsible for providing emergency and routine care within their scope of certification. They work under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse to assess and provide appropriate medical treatment in emergency situations. In addition, they must accurately document patient care and maintain their equipment and supplies to ensure readiness for emergency response.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Must be a High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience
- One (1) year related experience in a medical environment preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Must have current CPR Certification
- Must be certified as a Paramedic in the state of employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency and routine treatment and evaluations as directed by Nursing and Medical Staff.
- Adhere to all Facility policies and procedures, Board of Nursing rules and regulations, and HIPAA Regulations.
- Participate in data collection, medication audits, and other performance improvement activities related to medication administration.
- Perform intake evaluations on inmates as directed, ensuring the confidentiality and rights of patients.
- Report any adverse patient events or reactions immediately to a supervisor.
