Full-Time Mortgage Lender (Kansas City)
Bank of Springfield (BOS) is seeking an energetic, professional, and experienced mortgage lender kick-start a mortgage-lending presence in the Kansas City market. Such an individual will be the driving force of the Bank’s success. An employee in this position will focus on prospective relationships with local Realtors and other strategic partners, as well as developing and maintaining lasting relationships. This position will be responsible for cross selling all bank products including but not limited to deposit, brokerage, trust, and insurance services.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Initiate and grow the Bank’s presence in the Kansas City market
- Evaluate creditworthiness and eligibility for mortgage loan applicants
- Review of loan documentation
- Ability to work in an office setting with flexibility to travel locally as needed to service customers and/or develop business
- Guide clients through mortgage financing options, the application process
- Participate in local community events and organizations
- Coordinate with the BOS mortgage lending team on a regular basis
- Learn about new programs and financing opportunities on a regular basis to better-serve clients
- Monitor and manage existing loans
- Cross-sell other bank products
- Maintain and build a loan portfolio
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or a relative field
- Previous experience is preferred, but not required. Position would ideally lead into a Junior Mortgage Lender, then Senior Mortgage Lender role. Training will be provided for those new to the field.
- Self-driven with the ability to self-manage. This role does not involve micromanagement
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) are mandatory. Must project confidence and excellence in presentations and meetings with customers and prospects in the marketplace
- Strong personal computer skills including experience in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook required
- Successful candidate must complete federal registration and annual renewal as required by the SAFE Act
- Ability to travel locally
- In this vital role, the successful candidate will originate quality residential first mortgage loans, as well as focus on prospective relationships with local Realtors and other strategic partners
- The Lender will meet with potential customers to discuss their financial needs, while providing top-notch customer service and building a lasting relationship
