Summary/Primary Purpose: The Camp Kroc Counselor is responsible for following the leadership of the Camp Kroc Lead Counselor in providing leadership and direction for camp youth as assigned. Will assist with guidance while monitoring summer day camp activities at The Salvation Army Kroc Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, leadership and mentoring to all day camp children, guests, staff and volunteers of all ages, ethnicity, and backgrounds.
- Proactively ensure a safe and clean environment for all day camp staff, volunteers, members and participants.
- Assist the Camp Lead as directed with monitoring activities provided by the day camp program including programming in all areas (i.e. gym, sports fields, pools, game room, classrooms, resource room, theater, festival plaza, etc.)
- Report and/or assist with any behavior issues or re-direction needed to the Camp Lead and/or Camp Coordinator.
- Provide additional support to all Kroc Center program staff, instructors, interns, and volunteers.
- Participate in designated staff training.
- Attend all scheduled team and staff meetings as directed by the Education Department.
- The work schedule is Monday-Friday and may include a pre or post weekend day or evening event.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and experience in working with children.
