The Data Center Management (DCM) organization provides enterprise leadership for our data centers and to our technology environments located across the globe. Our data centers are the foundation of Wells Fargo’s technology platforms, a critical component in providing continual services to our customers while protecting their most confidential and personal information. DCM partners with the Corporate Properties Group (CPG) and Corporate Security to provide Wells Fargo with world class data center environments.
The Role
We are looking for a collaborative leader with a strong engineering background to join the DCM team. This leader will focus on delivering across the entire technology portfolio by driving the evolution, operation, and governance oversight of Wells’ mission-critical environments related to our Technology rooms, Network aggregation rooms, and Labs.
This leader will play a key role in continuing to strengthen partnerships with our corporate properties and corporate security teams through consistent collaboration, along with leading and partnering with multiple engineering teams and product owners to mature our environments. The ideal candidate for this role should have a future interest in management/managing staff as part of their career path. You will be accountable for managing a select group of edge sites and empowered to influence decision making across multiple levels of leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering vision, leadership, coaching, and guidance across the organization and lead implementation efforts based on our evolving product model.
- Provide approvals and feedback on current processes, procedures, and standards to facilitate efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of our products.
- Partner regularly with Security, Properties, Network, and others to deliver on annual business Objectives & Key Results (OKR’s) for our hosting environments.
- Accountable for managing a small group of technology rooms (third party edge sites) as part of an on call 24/7 rotation, in partnership with a team of senior engineers.
- Develop and refresh scalable & flexible operational support models to include a documented roadmap, goals, and objectives.
- Collaborate and provide innovative engineering solutions to product leads, Kanban leads, and scrum masters to execute on product delivery.
- Provide guidance for establishing and maintaining Service Level Agreement(SLA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Data Center operation framework.
- Lead and partner on automation and data tools initiatives to further streamline support tools such as Jira, Service Now, Confluence, Nlyte, and more.
- Communicate to executive leadership on any issues that may cause service impacts and function as a liaison for incidents.
- Partner with leaders to execute on global compliance and BCP efforts.
- Collaborate on metrics and reporting for global staff that quantify service level achievement, resource consumption, growth, related to RTB/CTB (Run the Bank & Change the Bank) activities.
- Provide IT resource forecasting and utilization data.
- Collaborate and execute on, availability, scalability, and implementation management of private and public cloud services for Wells Fargo’s critical enterprise applications & environments.
- Provide risk management and mitigation including: Access management/coordination, technology room consulting, implementation of operational governance (processes and controls), project coordination, technology operations related issue/event management , and change management.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization.
- Product model experience related to Data Centers, Network, or Hosting Environments
- Advanced working knowledge of enterprise platforms: Microsoft Teams, Jira, Confluence, Service Now.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies and experience in managing or migrating services to the cloud.
- Experience in the design and operation of global data centers supporting multiple business units.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create and deliver senior management executive summaries.
- Strong experience in creating & cultivating partnerships with leaders from various lines of business.
- Strong experience in managing production & non-production (lab) environments, utilizing IT service management concepts (change, problem & incident management) ITIL based.
- Understanding of technology financial drivers within a large-scale enterprise technology organization and the ability to develop financial forecasts for future projects.
- Adept at operating in matrixed & dotted line organizational constructs.
- Proven experience managing and working with culturally diverse and geographically distributed teams.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 7 years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 7 Data Center or Technology Hosting experience
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years product model experience
- 1 years of experience in Cloud, demonstrated through work experience in Google, Azure Cloud, or other.
- Microsoft AZ 900 or Google certified.
Job Expectations
- 20% travel estimated.
Pay Range
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00 AnnualBenefits
