About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Credit Portfolio Consultant to support the implementation of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) wide strategies for closing all types of commercial loans while ensuring adherence to all internal and regulatory requirements and increasing efficiency. They will partner with key stakeholders in CRE and Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) to help stand up a best in class closing platform that is operationally sound, while also meeting all expense management goals. In this role, you will:

Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that are large scale, cross functional, or companywide strategies

Examine current state CRE lending processes to drive opportunities for improvement and leverage existing CIB infrastructure

Identify opportunities for uniformity and optimization of roles across CRE; must have the ability to “close the gaps” in communication across the total portfolio

Collaborates with key stakeholders to foster underwriting, closing and portfolio management standardization, especially with complex transactions and syndications

Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations

Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of the functional area or products, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support the implementation of developed solutions and plans

Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives

Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate which may involve escalations, communication and reporting as needed to senior leadership.

Ensure consistent System of Record (SOR) inputs, reconciliation & compliance with internal/external regulations

Support and drive alignment of common and shared controls, assessing overlap between control environment and transformation initiatives while further solidifying control and line of business partnerships.

Leverage best practice workflows, increase efficiency & consistency, reduce processing time to ensure uniformity across CRE

Assist with oversight of money movement and related processes/risk mitigation to ensure expanded wire disbursement oversight

Ability to create consistent & comprehensive technology enhancements for closing road map to enhance CRE partnerships when conducting infrastructure build outs

Lead the strategy and resolution of high complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation, vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities

Engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation, and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Required Qualifications:

7 years of Credit Portfolio Consulting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:

Experience conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting

Experience consulting, influencing and partnering with business executives and senior leadership

Experience with change management, project management and executing business initiatives

7 years of commercial real estate lending experience

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience

Knowledge and understanding of portfolio management and international credit products

Knowledge and understanding of CIB products and activities

Knowledge and understanding of the Enterprise and CIB Risk Programs, Policies and Procedures

Prior exposure to compliance and risk control framework
