As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. Corporate Risk roles depend on a variety of skills, including: Data analysis and synthesis, root cause analysis, change management, process management & execution, risk governance, risk strategy, risk identification & assessment, risk prevention, controls & mitigation, risk monitoring, reporting & escalation, risk systems & technology.
Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.
The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
Key responsibilities for the Mortgage Servicing Compliance Officer include:
- Build a trusted compliance advisor relationship with aligned business leaders, control leaders, and other IRM partners
- Actively participate in Team Huddles, Team Meetings, and Team Win/Learn sessions. Be present, engaged, and contribute to team solutions for escalations or obstacles.
- Monitor regulatory requirements for new or changing requirements and ensure business compliance via procedure review and monitoring, if applicable
- Advise on RAU applicability to compliance requirements. Participate and challenge risks and controls associated with compliance risk in RCSA workshops
- Execute compliance monitoring activities, including developing annual monitoring plan, maintaining monitoring inventory, executing on monitoring plan, notifying business of identified gaps, and ensuring corrective actions are entered in accordance with Issue Management Policy.
- Oversight of issues with compliance risk with challenge throughout the issue management life cycle: issue identification & vetting, corrective action planning, corrective action execution and implementation, validation and sustainability. Provide formal challenge during issue submission and closure tollgates.
- Oversight of compliance-related business policies, procedures, and controls by review and credible challenge of existing procedures, development of procedures to address gaps, and enhancements of control environments.
- Perform risk-based reviews of customer-facing correspondence, including digital content, for compliance risk
- Advise on compliance risks during the development of new or enhanced tools and technology
- Active participation and engagement in agile cabinet work and projects, as assigned, for compliance risk
- Review and challenge business QA/self-assurance work related to compliance risks.

Salary range is determined by the location of the job
Salary range for position:
Area 000: $132,700 $189,600 $246,500
Area 001: $121,700 $173,800 $225,900
Area 002: $110,600 $158,000 $205,400
Area 003: $99,500 $142,200 $184,900
May be considered for a discretionary bonus
May be considered for Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards
Required Qualifications
7 years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7 years of financial services industry experience, of which 5 years must include direct experience in risk management
Desired Qualifications
Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships

- Knowledge and understanding of audit and regulatory compliance
