Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Tax Manager / Senior Lead Tax Analyst - US Federal Advisory and Planning. In this role, you will work as a member of the Wells Fargo Corporate Tax team helping to solve complex tax and business issues from initial strategy to final execution. You will advise management on various aspects of corporate income taxation, develop team members, and create and implement tax planning strategies. In addition, you will establish yourself as a value added tax advisor to Wells Fargo business lines while creating value for the company.

In this role, you will:
- Lead the US federal tax advisory and tax planning activities for the following lines of business and corporate functions: Consumer Banking and Lending, Commercial Banking, Investment Portfolio, Human Resources and Corporate Treasury
- Research complex tax issues and memorialize findings/conclusions in well written memorandums
- Develop, research, document and execute on US federal tax planning strategies
- Keep abreast of current and pending tax legislation and advise stakeholders accordingly
- Provide tax support and analysis in connection with tax due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and dispositions
- Collaborate with other groups both within and outside Corporate Tax
- Provide strategic consultation to senior leaders throughout the organization on tax matters
- Communicate and/or implement practices and procedures for proper control activities in accordance with the Company's internal controls policies
- 7 years of Corporate Tax experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Member of the Bar
- 5 years of experience in US federal corporate income tax advisory and tax planning including: mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, internal restructuring transactions and experience in tax consulting and tax planning
- Bachelor's degree with preference for Juris Doctorate (JD), Master of Laws (LLM) or a Master's degree in Taxation
- Strong background advising on tax credit investments
- Financial institution knowledge/experience and familiarity with US GAAP and accounting for income tax preferred
- Strong leadership abilities and possess an enhanced attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Management experience with ability to work independently
- Possess advanced analytical and tax technical skills
- Ability to exercise judgment in solving problems to ensure achievement of business objectives and priorities
