Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.
Commercial Banking Data and Transformation organization
This group is responsible for driving Commercial Banking’s major Data and Transformation efforts, focused on enabling improved customer experiences and building consistent processes and platforms across Commercial Banking. Transformation efforts are focused across several key domains including Lending Transformation, Customer Transformation, Sales Enablement, Change Management, and Data Analytics and Insights.
Strategy & Governance team
This team drives strategic planning and analysis, aligning key stakeholders across Commercial Banking, defining success metrics and KPIs, managing executive reporting processes, helping to ensure benefits realization for each key transformation domain, and supporting the various Data and Transformation leaders in running and managing their organizations.
The Position
The Strategy & Governance team is seeking a strategy leader to support strategic programs within Commercial Banking Data and Transformation. This position will report to the head of the Strategy & Governance team and will support strategic planning and analysis, metric and KPI definition, executive reporting processes, presentation development for stakeholders including the Board and regulators, and will help ensure benefits realization. In addition, the strategy leader may support operating model, finances, and operating routines across Data and Transformation programs, ensuring organizational effectiveness.
A successful candidate must possess excellent analytical and communication skills, be able to influence partners across business lines and functional areas, and be able to develop and deliver exceptional presentations and regular updates to executive management and other stakeholders.
This role will be highly visible, demanding, and rewarding and will provide the individual the opportunity to help transform multiple lines of business within Commercial Banking. A successful candidate will have strong business acumen skills and previous strategy consulting experience.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Becoming a trusted business advisor who Data and Transformation domain leaders and line of business leadership can depend on to develop solutions and proposals with limited information and minimal oversight
- Strategic planning, business case development, and roadmap prioritization
- Developing target-state operating models, strategic plans, and recommendations
- Driving strategic initiatives and work streams
- Conducting root-cause analysis/issue identification
- Identifying and implementing cost saving, process improvement, and redesign opportunities
- Influencing partners across business lines and functional areas
- Distilling and presenting complex concepts in a simplified manner, including developing and delivering dynamic and digestible presentations and regular updates to executive management and other stakeholders
- Identifying and tracking success metrics and KPIs
- Producing executive reporting and performance dashboards summarizing domain performance
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Developing Line of Business specific roadmaps and providing Line of Business updates across all Data and Transformation efforts
- Partnering with leadership team to manage staffing model and drive budget forecasting
- Partnering with leadership team and vendor resources to define future state process and methodologies
- Developing frameworks for understanding current state processes and methodologies, gaps, risks, and areas for improvement
- Partnering with Finance to manage the operating budget
- Partnering with cross-functional teams across the enterprise to drive and deliver results
- Developing SOWs for vendor support and managing vendors
- Becoming a subject matter expert in multiple areas (Data and Transformation and business partners) that leadership can leverage for solutions and to accelerate decision making
- Creating and managing project plans and key deliverable(s) deadlines
- Engaging with all levels of the organization to achieve shared goals
- Ensuring the appropriate controls are implemented for processes and technology solutions to meet regulatory requirements and minimize the risk for the organization
