About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Tax Analyst responsible for preparation and review of components of the organization’s US federal and state income tax returns and related book-tax adjustments. In this role, you will interact with other areas in Corporate Tax and provide support in adhering to internal control standards.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare book-tax adjustments and tax returns, perform account analysis, and proactively seek policy/procedure improvements to maintain tax-related records/controls
- Review less complex book-tax adjustments and tax returns
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate tax returns
- Research tax issues and prepare written analysis and conclusions that embody and model compliance and risk management requirements for supported area
- Be proficient in accounting and multi-jurisdictional income tax laws, rules, and regulations
- Collect information in response to inquiries from federal and state income tax auditors
- Collaborate with business partners to collect internal financial or tax data, perform data analysis, test for accuracy, identify and resolve data problems
Required Qualifications, US:
- 2 years of Corporate Tax, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience preparing US federal and state income tax returns
- Self-starter with strong analytical/tax technical/research skills; internal controls adherence
- Hands-on experience in data analysis using Alteryx and advanced Excel
- Understanding of US GAAP principles in the banking and financial services industry
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Master’s degree in Taxation/Accounting
- Banking/financial services income taxation and consolidated or unitary income tax returns experience
- MS Office, Oracle General Ledger, and Corporate Income Tax filing software proficiency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with remote employees and management
