About this role :
Wells Fargo is seeking a Listed Option Trader (Retail Equities Trader) to execute listed option trades utilizing multiple trading platforms, provide basic options strategy information, assist financial advisors with order execution questions, and work with internal departments to resolve out of balance scenarios related to trading activity.
In this role, you will :
- Participate in daily transactions of option orders and identify opportunity for communication, and system improvements within Retail Options Trading
- Review and analyze basic trading systems, market structures, trading risks, and exercise independent judgment to guide market liquidity, volatility, and pricing deliverables
- Execute and route orders from retail financial advisors, Correspondents and Investment Advisors
- Present recommendations for resolving complex transactions and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in trading strategies, compliance, and risk
- Collaborate and consult with peers, manager and internal partners to assist Financial Advisors, Correspondents and Investment Advisors, as well as customers
- Discuss client positions and market conditions to provide guidance / assistance to Financial Advisors
- Review bid / ask prices and displayed liquidity in an effort to obtain best execution for large / complex orders
- Execute complex client trades with smartrouters and floor brokers
- Review options trading and documentation for compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications :
2 years of Trading, Customer Service experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following : work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications :
- Option trading experience
- Knowledge and understanding of trading desk or capital markets operations
- Proficient with BETA and SmartStation platforms, NGO (order management system) experience a plus
- Ability to maintain and build broker / dealer relationships, bringing credibility and visibility to our efforts.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
- FINRA registration including Series 7 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
- FINRA registration including Series 63 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
Job Expectations :
Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire.
FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Obtaining and / or maintaining appropriate FINRA license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory.
Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance.
For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9 / 30 / 2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required
