Shipper - 2nd shift

Summary:

This position is responsible for processing orders through the final ship out process in the Shipping Department and on the shipping line in Production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare shipping paperwork, including a scale sheet that goes to the Traffic Clerk.
• Operate computer to process orders with accuracy through the shipping line.
• Break down shipping orders when computers are down.
• Visual inspection for damaged product and packaging.
• Understand various customers’ requirements-using the computer to look up customer specifications.
• Resolve problems relating to the shipping of orders to customers.
• Line load product when necessary to continue the smooth flow of the shipping process.
• Maintain a clean, neat and organized work area.
• Be actively involved in proactive measures towards safety for self and co-workers.
• Other job activities as assigned.

Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and work instructions or procedure manuals.
• Math skills used add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
• Critical thinking skills necessary to solve practical problems.
• Oral and Written communication skills to resolve problems and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Basic computer skills.
