Every day, more architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and owners specify Wells precast building components for their construction needs and with this continued success, we are looking to hire a Travel Lift Operator to join our team.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION Travel Lift Operator is responsible for the safe operation of their crane while stripping of product, yarding of product, and loading of product. The Operator is responsible for daily inspection of their machine to prevent any maintenance issues, as well as perform general rigging inspections on their machine.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be knowledgeable in the safe operations of this equipment.
- Conduct daily visual inspection of this equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Work with Maintenance to resolve any work orders required on the machine
- Understand rigging procedures and be knowledgeable in rigging equipment capacities.
- Climbing up and down from this equipment and from form surfaces.
- Working with hand tools such as cut off saws, grinders, drills, etc.
- Knowledge/experience working with gas/acetylene torch.
- Be authorized to operate company forklifts
- Overhead crane-way experience.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- Be an authorized forklift operator or be capable of learning the skills of operating a forklift.
- Must be able to lead a team with respect and dignity.
- Ability to work with others to get the project completed efficiently.
- Must be motivated and self driven to complete a task.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
- Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
- Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently.
- Possession of valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
- Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
- Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
- Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific)
- Ability to work outside year-round (plant specific)
