Position Summary

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and analysis to support WellSpace Health’s strategic decisions. This position will be responsible for overseeing budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, implementation, and business strategic analysis, along with developing dashboards for management and ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of financial models.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a deep understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in financial planning software such as Workday Adaptive Insights is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advance skills in Microsft Office software applications (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Commitment to HIPAA and ability to abide by standards of professional ethics and maintain confidentiality.
  • Adherence to infection control procedures, including but not limited to, standard precautions of temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking and social distancing.
  • Assist and support the Center/Department/Program to meet standards of High Reliability.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's financial planning process, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range strategic plans.
  • Analyze current and past financial data and performance to make recommendations on profit enhancement.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actuals, forecasts, and budget, explaining the causes of differentials.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting that provides insights into the company’s financial performance.
  • Collaborate with various department heads to create financial models for decision support and track the financial viability of strategic initiatives.
  • Enhance financial and operational decision-making by developing dashboards and providing key financial indicators and performance metrics for management and board reporting.
  • Lead the financial modeling and analysis to support the development of long-term strategic initiatives and business plans.
  • Ensure financial models are accurate and updated to reflect the latest assumptions and financial information.
  • Participate in the capital budgeting process, assessing investment opportunities and their financial impacts.
  • Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes that may affect the financial landscape.
  • Develop robust models on trends, key business drivers, and financial results to prioritize & plan investment decisions in collaboration with senior management.
  • Implement processes to enhance cost tracking, including greater visibility into spend and streamlined reporting.
  • Oversee and administer financial analytical software tools for budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Support the CFO or his/her designee in the analysis, interpretation, and monitoring of financial requirements for finance, analysis for labor negotiations, participating in ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Establish policies, procedures, and direction for the continuous improvement of financial operations, including increased use of technology.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The work environment is characteristic of a medical clinic environment.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel.  The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.   The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

 

The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client’s use of alcohol and drugs, and the lack of personal care.  The employee may also be exposed to bodily fluids (blood, urine) and hazardous chemicals.
