As the Director of Resident Care with the Saginaw Assisted Living and Memory Support Facility with Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of nurses, CNAs and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families in Saginaw. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Saginaw County to provide services to seniors. In this position, you'll be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Michigan and bring two years of relevant experience, preferably in leadership in a senior services environment. Having a bachelor's degree in nursing or a healthcare related field and professional experience in a supervisory role is preferred but not required.
Maintain focus and oversight within: care management, medication management, risk management, quality assurance and staff management
Be responsible for residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Support in conjunction with their nursing team
Coordinate resident care in order to ensure the residents remain healthy and active
Delegate to the health and wellness supervisory staff the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform their assigned duties
Ensure an environment which encourages each resident’s ability to maintain or attain the highest level of independence and physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being
Assist the residents and their family in maintaining the physical and emotional health of the resident
Act as a liaison with hospital personnel, rehabs, physicians, community organizations, and other related health service agencies to provide care and support to the residents
Directly supervise, motivate, train, and evaluate all health and wellness staff
Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors
Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the health and wellness department and a Quality Assessment and Assurance committee to develop and implement appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies and assure best practice
Oversee and manage the resident assessment process to ensure the proper levels of care are obtained
Ensure that all staff within the department receive adequate orientation, training, competency verification, and ongoing education to fulfill their role
Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures involving resident and staff health and wellness
Lead daily operations for the health and wellness department
Provide direct patient care when necessary
Maintain stocked inventory
Set and track departmental goals and objectives
Investigate any patient and family complaints
Hire and onboard new department employees
Participate in the on-call nurse rotation
