What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Construction Foreman position at Wendy's?
Duties and responsibilities:
- Must be able to accurately perform material takeoffs on a regular frequency.
- Constantly keep and maintain inventory of onsite material and equipment.
- As well as be neat and organized.
- Must demonstrate high level of skill as it pertains to reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Ability to understand scale, transfer scale to job site measurements for accuracy in locating major installation start/end points.
- Ability to fabricate Sheetmetal transitions, offsets “on the fly” to keep progress moving forward.
- Ability to plan and manage daily and weekly progress.
- As well as understand where we need to be, when we need to be there and what it will take to reach that milestone.
- Must be able to set and attain progress goals while being conscious at all times of overall labor budget.
- Must demonstrate general knowledge in basic job costing i.e., material cost differences at Home Depot vs an actual vendor.
- Understanding of how purchases impact job cost.
- Demonstrate high level of communication with staff and general contractor’s onsite representatives.
- Ability to create daily progress reports, with specific details and timely submission to project management.
- Onsite management of up to 10 HVAC Installation Technicians to include their safety, daily progress, weekly progress, JHAs, spot inspections, guide, lead, teach, mentor, and communicate.
- Applicant will represent Climate Pros during installations, inspections and site meetings with both customers and general contractors.
- Handle and maintain all Foreman level responsibilities as well as work alongside their assigned crew.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Experience and Education:
- Must have ability to pass a thorough background check and ability to acquire access badges for K-12 campus facilities as required.
- Applicant cannot possess any felony related charge for domestic violence or drug related charges.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening at all times.
- Applicant will have basic hand tools to include hammer(s), screwdrivers, tin snips, drill/impact, meter, gauges, and all other basic personal technician level trade specific tools.
- Applicant must have a relatively clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Fluent in English both written and spoken.
- High level of knowledge as it pertains to reading drawings, reading specifications, installation means and methods, understanding IECC as well as code enforcement, safety.
- Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years verifiable experience in the trade.
- Universal EPA, Registration with TDLR, OSHA 10, First Aid, CPR certifications are all mandatory.
- Applicant will be administered a skill assessment which will be used to determine experience and knowledge. Although this will not be used to determine employment, it will serve as a guide for management as it pertains to placement as well as training needs.
- This is a “hands on” foreman position.
- Meaning this position is required to be a working Foreman.
- Knowledge of all major components as well as installation methods pertaining to but not limited to: RTUs, VAVs, Fan Powered Boxes, Fan Coils, Split Systems, Hydronic Systems, Chillers, Boilers, Piping, Valves, Ducting, Grilles, Registers and Diffusers, Louvers, Dampers, Fans, Fire Dampers, Hoods, Roof curbs and caps, Equipment supports and Stands, Condensate and Gas, Stand Alone Controls, Basic knowledge of BAS/BMS/BACnet Controls, Startups, Reporting, Balancing Refrigerant, VRF Systems, Heaters, Air Handlers, HVLS Fans, Exhaust Systems, Line Sets, Insulation, Jacketing, Thermometers and Gauges, Filters and Filtration, Transitions and Offsets, Snaplock and Flex.
