Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements for multiple entities, treasury reporting, weekly sales reports, inventory, and other duties as required by management for multiple legal and operating entities.
Essential Job Functions:
• Prepare and audit financial statements.
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation.
• State/Fed tax
• Transport tax returns (DOT)
• Payroll journal entries, payroll bank account reconciliations, backup and segregation balancing
• Respond to general questions from various departments.
• Assist with and provide backup for weekly payroll for all facilities.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree 3 years of Accounting experience.
• Disciplined to work with a monthly close schedule, living this discipline during pre-close/close – Respect the Close.
• Proficient in setting up and posting journal entries, i.e., Fixed Assets, Prepaid
• Proficient with reconciling cash and AR daily
• Proficient with Balance Sheet reconciliations, Cash, AR, AP, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Accrued Expenses, and Other
Liabilities
• Proficient in the fundamentals of accounting, you know your balance sheet accounts from your P&L accounts and how
these accounts present.
• Understand inventory movements and the financial impact of the movements.
• Comfortable working with high-volume AP, and comprehending the purchase-to-pay flow.
• Comfortable working in a multi-company code environment
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations for daily inventory movements, AR transactional activity, cross charges
• Skilled to assist with all types of financial and operational audits.
• Intent on raising the bar, “leave it better than you found it” mentality.
• PLUS – Experience with Planful or Blackline would be a huge help in this role.
