We are looking for a Director of IT Applications who can oversee the Data/BI team and the Salesforce CRM team, and provide strategic direction, innovation, and governance for our global application environment.
Overview
The Director of IT Applications will play a critical role in leading a team of direct reports, consultants, and technology vendors to provide a robust, global application environment to support Werner’s ongoing business vitality and growth. The position will oversee the Data/BI team and the Salesforce CRM team at WernerCo. The position requires effective leadership, customer service skills, strategic global leadership, remaining innovative in design and staying abreast of all industry topics.
Responsibilities
IT Leadership
· Lead the development and execution of technology plans related to BI and CRM, aligning them with business strategy and enterprise architecture
- Participate in IT governance and workload prioritization, ensuring optimal resource allocation and project delivery
- Keep abreast of technology trends and best practices in areas of responsibility, and foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within your team
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders across different units and locations, understanding their needs and expectations, and delivering solutions that add value and enhance user experience
- Manage or oversee vendor relationships for key vendors, ensuring quality, performance, and compliance
- Champion Werner values and work to continually improve IT department employee engagement.
Data/BI
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data warehousing, ETL, reporting, analytics, and visualization solutions
- Establish and enforce data quality standards, policies, and procedures across the organization
- Promote data literacy and foster a data-driven culture within the business units
- Develop a business intelligence center of excellence (BI COE) to provide best practices, guidance, and support for data users
- Implement data science, advanced analytics, and AI capabilities.
- Facilitate system feasibility studies, proof of concepts, pilot projects, and testing for new data technologies
- Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and security of data systems
SalesForce CRM
- Lead the configuration, customization, integration, and administration of SalesForce CRM platform
- Ensure that CRM applications meet corporate objectives, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve business issues
- Gather, analyze, and define end-user requirements for CRM data access and usability in accordance with business objectives
- Assist in the creation of long-term strategic goals for achieving and maintaining high customer satisfaction and loyalty through CRM solutions
- Develop and implement training programs, documentation, and best practices for CRM users
Qualifications
Experience & Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; master’s degree preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with proven track record of delivering complex BI and CRM projects in a global environment
- Expertise in Data/BI technologies, such as Snowflake and PowerBI
- Expertise in Salesforce CRM platform, specifically Service Cloud and Sales Cloud, including configuration, customization, integration, security, etc.
- Experience in Agile methodologies and practices, such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to think strategically, creatively, and holistically about business and technology challenges
- Global experience preferred; experience in multiple country deployment and multi-language deployment is a plus
- Experience with Cyber Security fundamentals is a plus
